AS NEW OWNERSHIP DEFINES THE VISION FOR THE NEXT CENTURY OF BRITISH LEISURE
One of the UK’s leading independent leisure retailers is celebrating a landmark milestone as Yorkshire Caravans & Motorhomes marks its 100th anniversary in 2026.
Founded in 1926, the business has evolved from humble Yorkshire roots into one of Britain’s largest and most respected independent caravan and motorhome retailers, serving customers nationwide from its flagship 34-acre destination site near Bawtry, South Yorkshire.
Today, Yorkshire Caravans & Motorhomes employs more than 100 people and generates annual revenues exceeding £50 million, firmly establishing itself as one of the standout success stories within both the Yorkshire business community and the wider UK leisure industry.

Over the last century, the company has built its reputation on exceptional customer service, industry expertise and outstanding value, helping generations of families discover the freedom and lifestyle of touring holidays.
Continually evolving with customer demand, Yorkshire Caravans & Motorhomes has become a true one-stop leisure destination, offering new and pre-owned caravans, motorhomes and campervans alongside awnings, accessories, storage facilities, parts, servicing and comprehensive aftercare support.
A major milestone in the company’s recent expansion came with the launch of its dedicated Motorhome Centre at the end of 2023, rapidly transforming the business into one of the UK’s fastest-growing names in motorhomes.
In under two years, the Motorhome Centre has already achieved national recognition, including a Highly Commended Public Vote accolade at the Out & About Live Motorhome Awards 2026.

Yorkshire Caravans & Motorhomes has also earned a national reputation for offering some of the industry’s best value, backed by its Price Promise Guarantee on caravans and motorhomes, attracting customers from across Britain and beyond.
The company now enters a new era under the ownership of Jason Cooper, whose long-term vision is focused on transforming the business from a traditional dealership into one of the UK’s most innovative integrated leisure groups over the next century.
As part of that vision, Yorkshire Caravans & Motorhomes plans to continue investing heavily across customer experience, aftersales, hospitality, digital retailing, premium leisure infrastructure and destination-led leisure concepts.
The company believes the future of the sector lies in creating immersive leisure ecosystems rather than simply selling vehicles, combining retail, servicing, storage, lifestyle, entertainment and tourism into a single integrated customer experience.
This broader long-term vision also aligns closely with the future development aspirations surrounding the Rossington Hall Estate, where complimentary leisure, hospitality and wellness concepts are being explored as part of a wider regional leisure strategy for the decades ahead, on the 200 acre estate.
Together, the ambition is to help position South Yorkshire as a nationally recognised destination for modern leisure and lifestyle experiences, combining touring, hospitality, wellness and premium outdoor living in ways that reflect the evolving expectations and the aspirations of future generations of customers.

Future plans being explored by the group include expanded indoor motorhome showrooms, premium hospitality facilities, large-scale storage and aftercare operations, destination-led leisure experiences and the continued development of one of the UK’s most significant independent leisure businesses.
With the touring and staycation market continuing to grow rapidly across the UK, Yorkshire Caravans & Motorhomes sees the next 100 years as an opportunity not simply to participate in the leisure industry, but to help redefine it.

To celebrate the centenary milestone, the company hosted a special anniversary celebration for employees and suppliers at the China Rose, Bawtry, on 4th June, recognising the people, partnerships and loyalty that have helped shape the business over the last century.
The celebrations will continue later in the month with a family fun centenary weekend at the Yorkshire Caravans & Motorhomes site on 27th and 28th June. The event will be open to the public and is expected to feature entertainment, special offers and celebrations for customers, families and the local community.
Jonathan Goulden, Chairman of Yorkshire Caravans & Motorhomes, said:
“Reaching 100 years in business is an extraordinary milestone and a proud moment for everyone connected to Yorkshire Caravans & Motorhomes.
What makes this anniversary even more exciting is that we believe the next chapter has the potential to be just as transformational than the first.
Yorkshire Caravans & Motorhomes has built an exceptional reputation over generations, and our focus now is on building upon those foundations to create one of the UK’s leading integrated leisure businesses for the future.
The leisure industry is evolving rapidly and we see enormous opportunities ahead across retail, hospitality, storage, aftercare, customer experience and destination-led leisure.
The first 100 years established not only built one of the most important brands in leisure but has also defined the next 100 years and what the business can truly become.”
Carl Purcell, Managing Director of Yorkshire Caravans & Motorhomes, added:
“We are incredibly proud of what the business has achieved and grateful to every customer, supplier and member of staff who has contributed to that journey.
Yorkshire Caravans & Motorhomes has always adapted, evolved and moved forward and that mindset remains central to everything we do today.
While we remain passionate about offering exceptional value and service, we are also investing heavily into the future of the customer experience and the long-term growth of this leisure business.
This is not simply a celebration of the past. It is the launchpad for the next century.”
Jason Cooper, Owner of Yorkshire Caravans & Motorhomes concluded:-
“Reaching 100 years is a remarkable achievement, but perhaps the most exciting chapter still lies ahead.
Our ambition is to build Yorkshire Caravans & Motorhomes into one of the UK’s leading leisure businesses, building on an incredible legacy whilst creating something that will continue to thrive for generations to come.”
